November 29th - Pigeon kicked off the Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving with the Pigeon Town Lighting Celebration held in our Thumb Bank & Trust Centennial Park. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived with the help of the Winsor Township Fire Department and hundreds of kids sat on Santa’s lap to share their Christmas wishes. Throughout the night, hotdogs, chili, chips and water were served. Several drawings had kids and adults alike waiting to hear their name called! November 30th - Bad Axe hosted Christmas in Whoville. We sponsored Mile 2 of the Second Annual Whobiliation Recreation Jubilation 5K. Many of our staff and family members participated in the walk/run event. Later in the day, before the lighted Christmas parade we served potato soup at our Bad Axe branch. December 7th was a busy day in many communities! December 7th - Cass City’s Christmas in the Village started with breakfast with Santa at the VFW Hall. The day featured a chili cook-off, a craft show at CCHS, we sponsored a free matinee movie, and the night ended with a lighted Christmas parade. To keep event goers warm, we sponsored free hot chocolate at the municipal building. December 7th - Christmas in Caseville was celebrated featuring Lunch with Santa at the Caseville Eagles where one lucky boy won a bike donated by us! There was a tree lighting and caroling in City Park with a bon fire, hot chocolate and snacks! December 7th - The Tinsel Tree Challenge presented by Maier & Associates and co-sponsored by Prime Brothers Furniture, Just for Kids and Thumb Bank & Trust raised over $37,000 to give back to local classrooms in the Bay Area! Several of our employees volunteered at the event where over 70 beautifully decorated trees and 15 decorated wreaths were raffled off. The event also included photos with Santa, holiday karaoke, kid’s games and free holiday goodies.
