Tuesday, April 30, 2019 / Categories: News Community Strong in Financial Literacy Thumb Bank & Trust receives 2019 MBA Financial Literacy Award We believe very strongly in the importance of financial literacy in our communities. Recently the Michigan Banker’s Association chose Thumb Bank & Trust as a recipient of their annual Financial Literacy Award. The award was accepted by Deanne Murdoch, during the 2019 MBA BEST Conference in Traverse City. Pictured are some of the financial literacy events we’ve had so far this year: Sylvia Winningham presented about careers in banking at Caseville Public Schools. Michelle Hill, read to Mrs Allred’s kindergarten class during “March is Reading Month” at Laker Elementary. Heather Drabek and Brent Wehner participated in THE GAME OF LIFE at Bad Axe Schools. Amy Wehner visited Jill VerBurg’s 6th grade math class and talked about different currencies from around the world. Heather Drabek and Kelsey Herek participated in the Thumb Area STEAM event at Bad Axe Schools. Lisa Chinoski and Heather Drabek shared about differenet banking positions at the Thumb Area Tech Center Career Days. Thumb Bank & Trust is proud to help serve our local communities with the financial tools that our youth needs. Thumb Bank & Trust is also proud of our staff for volunteering to support these local schools.
