While the legal merger has closed the account integration will take place the weekend of February 7, 2025. At this time Freeland State Bank customers should continue to do their banking as usual.
We will keep you up to date as the account integration date gets closer, so you'll know what to expect. You won't see many changes until the transition occurs. Customer service and community commitment will remain of the highest importance to the bank.

1. Why is Freeland State Bank becoming part of Thumb Bank & Trust? This will allow Thumb Bank & Trust to expand its branch network while continuing to meet the needs of the community and our customers with a complete array of up-to-date financial products and services. The Freeland location is a nice geographic extension of Thumb Bank & Trust’s existing branch network. After the account integration the weekend of February 7, 2025, customers will have access to 13 branch locations.
2. When is this happening and how long will I not have access to my accounts? The legal close of the merger occurred on November 15, 2024. The account integration will take place the weekend of February 7, 2025. On February 10, 2025, Freeland State Bank will be fully integrated into Thumb Bank & Trust.
3. How are Thumb Bank & Trust and Freeland State Bank alike? Freeland State Bank and Thumb Bank & Trust share a strong commitment to our customers and communities. Both banks hold similar values of integrity and relationship banking. Thumb Bank & Trust will provide Freeland State Bank customers with additional resources and value-added services, while preserving the spirit of community banking. 4. Will the branch hours change? The Freeland branch hours are being reviewed.
5. When can I begin using Thumb Bank & Trust branch locations and ATMs? On February 10, 2025, customers will be able to use Thumb Bank & Trust branch locations and ATMs.
6. Where is the headquarters for Thumb Bank & Trust? Thumb Bank & Trust is headquartered at 7254 Michigan Ave., Pigeon, MI 48755 in the same location it has been in for over 129 years.

8. Will my account number change? Most account numbers will not change. You will be notified in advance if your account number will change.
9. What will happen to my deposit account(s)? Your account(s) will be automatically transferred to a similar account with Thumb Bank & Trust. You will receive more information in the mail regarding the transition of your account(s).
10. When will I get my statements? You will get a final Freeland State Bank statement effective February 7, 2025. After the Account Integration Thumb Bank & Trust checking account statements will be issued at the end of each month and savings account statements will be issued at the end of each quarter.
11. Will my automatic transfers, automatic loan payments, and direct deposits continue to work? Yes, automatic transfers and direct deposits will continue to work as they did prior to the conversion of your account to Thumb Bank & Trust.
12. Can I use my Freeland State Bank checks after the merger? Yes, your Freeland State Bank checks can continue to be used after the merger.
13. What is Thumb Bank & Trust’s routing number? Thumb Bank & Trust’s Routing Number is 072407929.
14. How will I access my online banking? Customers will need to re-enroll in online banking with Thumb Bank & Trust after the Account Integration. This can be done online at www.thumb.bank.
15. Will my Freeland State Bank ATM/Debit Card still work? You will receive a new debit card from Thumb Bank & Trust to begin using after the Account Integration.
16. Will my payments attached to my debit card continue to work? You will need to re-establish any automatic payments with the new card information.
17. What if I have deposit accounts at Freeland State Bank and Thumb Bank & Trust? All accounts will remain separate until you make a change. Your Freeland State Bank accounts will be converted to Thumb Bank & Trust accounts the weekend of February 7, 2025. You will receive additional information in the mail prior to the conversion.
18. Will my rates or maturity date change on my Certificate of Deposit accounts? The rate you received prior to the conversion will remain in effect until the maturity date.
19. Will my loan with Freeland State Bank change? The terms and conditions on your personal loan(s), line(s) of credit, mortgage loan(s) or commercial loan(s) will remain the same.
20. Will I be able to use my current loan coupon book when I make my loan payment? Yes.
Important Dates

All accounts held with Freeland State Bank will automatically convert to Thumb Bank & Trust accounts over the weekend. There is nothing personal or business customers need to do during the account integration.
February 10, 2025
Freeland State Bank will be fully integrated into Thumb Bank & Trust. Customers can now use any of our 13 branch locations.
